Why I built the Studio

I came to this work through psychology, communication and a longstanding fascination with the gap between who people are, what they have actually contributed, and what the world has learned to recognise.

That gap matters more than it looks. Experienced leaders are reduced to their most recent title. Organisations become known for one familiar part of their capability. Years of judgement, relationships, lived experience and work that changed things are flattened into language that is technically accurate and somehow misses the entire point.

The conventional response is usually to improve the messaging. I want to know what’s underneath it before we touch the words.

What has this person or organisation learned to see that others miss? What do people trust them with? Which patterns recur across work that may appear unrelated? What has become so natural to them that they no longer think to mention it? And where has the public story fallen several versions behind the truth?

My background in psychology shapes how I approach those questions. I pay attention not only to what people say, but to identity, perception, behaviour, meaning, context and the conditions that allow somebody to recognise themselves in a new account without feeling packaged into one.

That is why The Legacy Impact Studio is not simply a PR or positioning studio.

We do not invent a more impressive version of somebody and send it out into the world with a confident font. We investigate what is already there, test what can honestly be claimed and build the language, evidence, tools and platforms that help other people see it too.

I built the Studio because meaningful work should not remain invisible simply because the person closest to it has become too used to carrying it.

And because good positioning should do more than make someone look compelling.

It should let the world see the legacy you are building, while you are still building it.
